‘Fiftyplustravels – Blog’ by K.J.S.Chatrath

What are my credentials for writing this blog? I passionately love travelling. I am 68 and know the choices and problems facing the Fifty-plus when they travel. And incidentally I have travelled quite extensively in India and abroad – have touched the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic Circle, the Machu-Pichhu in Peru, travelled alone in the Patagonia area of Argentina and Chile and various countries of Europe- all after becoming fifty. An offshoot of this love for travel is going to the hills and trekking .I have trekked to Gomukh, Yamnotri, Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib, Kidarnath, Purana Kidar, Har-Ki-Doon, Dodital and up to a little short of the mysterious lake Roopkund.

I plan to share news, information, articles and photos relating to tourism viewed from the viewpoint of Fifty-Plus.

Readers are invited to ask questions and I would try to reply. Of course they would be well advised to double check the information before taking their decisions about travel plans.

No I am not going to sell any travel packages or air tickets or do hotel bookings. It is just an endeavour to share my experience so that more and more Fifty Plus enjoy their travels. I hope even my younger friends would find it of some interest.

What if we still ride on, we two
With life for ever old yet new,
Changed not in kind but in degree,
The instant made eternity–
And heaven just prove that I and she
Ride, ride together, forever ride? *
