“Pathankot-Palampur-Jogindernagar Toy Train -” A photographic tribute to the Indian Railways” by K.J.S.Chatrath

I took a train ride in the Kangra Toy Train – linking Pathankot and Joginder Nagar. I could travel only for  66 kilometers from Palampur to Nagrota Saurian as repairs to a broken bridge were reportedly going on. The work on this  163 kilometres line started in 1926 and it was opened to public three years later.

The ticket for my journey cost me Rs.11/-, that is when I did not claim my Senior Citizen discount of 40%!

I would let my photographs narrate the story.

Way to the Palampur railwaystation at Maranda.

Palampur has an excellent Himachal Pradesh Tourism Dev. Corporation run hotel ‘The Tea Bud’  where the senior citizens get a 10% discount. (
